New Zealand-Based Meet-Up Reminder...
Still on the eighth of January, still at the Botanical Gardens at about one pm (1300)
I thought we'd meet by the Nude Wrestlers which look like this:
Go over the bridge between Riccarton Ave and Rolleston Ave, and just follow the path along the river from the Riccarton Ave side, behind the hospital. The statue is between the path and the river. There's a tree by it and a bit of a grassy space that will be pretty good for a picnic.
Hopefully by then I will have a marker like I dunno, an umbrella, a sign, a faintly embarrassed expression.
I'll provide cupcakes and/or scones- I recommend the proud NZ tradition of bring-a-plate, but whatever suits is fine.
I have no idea what will happen if it rains. Bring an umbrella- we may try and find that big gazebo thing I know is somewhere in the wilderness, or decamp to somewhere dry in town.
Any ideas and suggestions, as always,are welcome.
If you are still confused at the statue, I will be wearing either a red hat or a top hat and tie.
I'll be hanging around till about two, probably, and arriving a little before one.
